Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
Short version: Wi-Fi QR does not collect your data. Networks you save are stored locally on your device, and QR images are shared only when you choose to share them.
Data Collected by the Developer
Wi-Fi QR does not collect personal data, usage data, analytics, identifiers, diagnostics, contact information, location history, or Wi-Fi credentials.
The app has no account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, third-party tracking SDK, or developer-operated server upload.
Network Information Stored on Your Device
When you save a network in Wi-Fi QR, the app stores the network details needed to regenerate the QR code on your device. This can include:
- Network name (SSID)
- Password, if the network requires one
- Security type
- Hidden-network setting
This information is local to your device and is not sent to the developer.
Location Permission
iOS requires location permission before an app can read the current Wi-Fi network name. Wi-Fi QR uses this permission only to fill in the current SSID for you.
Wi-Fi QR does not collect, store, track, or share your physical location.
QR Code Sharing
Generated QR codes can contain the Wi-Fi details needed to join the network. QR images leave the app only when you choose to share, save, print, or send them through iOS sharing features.
Anyone who can scan a QR code containing your Wi-Fi password may be able to join that network, so share QR codes only with people you trust.
Deleting Your Data
You can remove saved network information by deleting saved networks in the app where available, or by deleting Wi-Fi QR from your device. Deleting the app removes its local app data from iOS.
Children's Privacy
Wi-Fi QR does not knowingly collect data from children or any other users.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated if Wi-Fi QR changes how it handles data. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
